Getting Started with Net Trekker:
School Access Method
- Options for accessing netTrekker from school:
We are using IP Authentication. If you connect to Net Trekker from a school
computer no user name or password is required for teachers or students.
This however does not enable:
- Save Search and User History features. Users will need to register a username/password
to utilize these features.
- Access from home. Users need to register a username/password to utilize these features.
How to Register:
Teachers have the ability to create
their own usernames and passwords from the registration page. Please follow
the instructions below to complete registration.
Steps:
1. Log on to our website at http://school.nettrekker.com .
2. Click Register located in the upper right corner of the page. A “Create NewUser” page will appear.
3. Create a username. This can be any combination of letters or numerals you
wish, but cannot contain any spaces or special characters. The username
field is case sensitive.
4. Create a password with a 5 character minimum. The password field is casesensitive. Re-enter your password for verification.
5. Question and Answer. Choose a question from the drop-down menu andprovide an answer that you will easily remember. If you forget your
password later and use the “Forgot Your Password?” feature, netTrekker
will ask you the question you chose. When you type the response that
matches the Answer you typed during registration, netTrekker will reset your
password.
6. Choose your school role as student or teacher. Click Next to proceed to thenext page.
7. For IP based registrations, a list of schools within your district will be listed.Highlight your school and click Done.
9. A “Welcome to netTrekker” page will be displayed. Click Done. Yourregistration is complete and you have full access to netTrekker.
Student Access from Home:
Students will require a Net Trekker Username/Password to get access from outside the school. The school Net Trekker Administrator can create an ID or all students OR a classroom to use. Talk to your administrator if you require this access for students.
