Technology Infusion
This project offered some exciting ways to infuse technology in my Grades 1 and 2 classroom.
We began blogging by choosing a student reporter of the day who worked with a partner.
Together, these students wrote about the happenings in the classroom. At centre time,
the other students posted comments. Soon, the students began asking if they could report on
what we were learning about at the time. Our blog also became an important communication
between the students, our student teacher at university, and me when I was away at conferences.
Grades 1 and 2 Egg-citing Eggs Wiki
This wiki was created in collaboration with my student teacher to document our
inquiry-based learning about eggs.
Read all about the adventures of Barkley the Beaver, our Kindergarten mascot.
ePearl Information for Parents
Electronic Portfolios Encouraging Active Reflective Learning is a web-based portfolio
tool. Piloted in my classroom in 2006-2007, it is gaining popularity in Manitoba schools
for its ease of access and integrated goal-setting and reflection components.
