Setting Proxies in FireFox

Details

To Set your proxies for proper policies for Staff and students, here are the directions how to turn them on and off:

  • First Click on "Tools", then at bottom of menu choose "Options".

  • From the Options window, select the Advanced Button

  • When the Advanced window is displayed choose the Network Tab displayed below and click on the Settings Button.

  • After clicking on the Settings button you will notice that there are no proxies set.

  • From the Connection Settings window, select 'Manual proxy configuration'.

  • Please fill in the necessary information in the   HTTP Proxy,  and please check the box  Use this proxy server for all protocols.
  • Then Click on the  OK button and close all other windows by clicking on the ok button if any. That is it your proxies are set.
  • Also Note for Laptop users, if you take your laptop home, you MUST go to this menu again to turn off proxies to surf the web from home. If you don't turn off the proxies by
set proxies to "no proxy"  you will NOT be able to surf the web.
